Bringing Down the Boiling Point: De-escalating Challenging Situations

As family and friends gather, conversations of all kinds can come up. What starts as a friendly chat can quickly turn into an argument. It’s important to know how to keep these conversations calm and respectful. In these trainings, we’ll share some easy tips for de-escalating personal or political discussions, so you can understand each other better and keep your relationships strong. Whether you’re at a family dinner or hanging out with friends, these ideas will help you talk about sensitive topics without turning them into fights. Let’s get started!

Bringing Down the Boiling Point: De-escalating Challenging Situations

Join us to learn a few techniques for bringing down the boiling point in your conversations. Utilizing the de-escalation diagram, phases of effective communication, and identifying the impact of verbal and non-verbal communication, this presentation offers a look into ways to connect with an emotionally elevated individual. During this discussion, we’ll explore de-escalation, communication skills, and tools for having a positive interaction.

We will be offering the same virtual class at two different times:
Tuesday, November 19 from 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Thursday, December 5 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm

You can also take time between those trainings and the approaching holidays to read up on how to protect yourself and put up boundaries by reading our blog post:
