Clinical Directors

Amy Miller, LCSW

Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Director of Adult Outpatient Services at Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  Amy has a broad range of experience in the fields of mental health and aging.  In her current role as Director of Adult Outpatient Services Amy provides programmatic oversight of Adult Outpatient Services, Senior Services, Mountain Services, Bilingual Services, and Vocational Services at Jefferson Center.

During her time at Jefferson Center she has also developed a new program to provide individual and group therapy to individuals with Hoarding Disorder and has assisted sites in Michigan, New Jersey, and Montana with implementing the Senior Reach model in their communities.

Amy earned her BA degree in Psychology from the University of South Dakota and her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver; she is also a Certified QPR and Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Angel Wood, LCSW

Angel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Director of Adult Intensive Services at Jefferson Center.  Angel has over 20 years of experience overseeing outpatient, community-based, peer and residential treatment programs providing services to the Severely Persistently Mentally Ill Adult population both in Colorado and New York.  In her role as the Director of Adult Intensive Services she oversees the ACT, Adult Intensive Outpatient, ACF/NH, Residential and Transportation programs. Angel earned her BA degree in Psychology from Medaille College and her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo.

Laura Smith

Laura Smith is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and is the Associate Medical Director of Nursing. She has been with JCMH for almost six years and has more than a decade of psychiatric nursing and prescribing experience, as well as an extensive background in nursing management.

Mental health is not Laura’s first career – the decision to enter into psychiatric nursing came quickly; she was the only one in her cohort to pursue this underserved field.

Her “why” occurs when her patients say, “Thank you, I feel so much better!” This is why she is in mental health care – to provide people with additional tools and support – to feel better and have a more comfortable, happier life.

Taylor Clepper, LCSW

Taylor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Director of Navigation and Housing Services at Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  Taylor has a broad range of experience in the field of mental health, social needs and benefits, as well as homelessness and housing services.  Her career has largely focused on work related to Social Determinants of Health. During her time at Jefferson Center, she has worked to expand our work around homelessness and housing services to include outreach programming and partnerships, a new Permanent Supportive Housing development, as well as a housing collaborative group in our mountain region. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver.

Andrea Raasch, LCSW

Andrea has a deep passion for serving people. New to her role at Jefferson Center, she brings a wealth of experience, working with child abuse victims as an in-patient therapist and directing porgrams at community mental health and therapeutic foster care industries. Andrea’s clinical background has provided her opportunities to be a resource for media and professionally training across the nation. Andrea is excited to be part of the Jefferson Center, where she can share her teams’ passion for supporting our mission of achieving operational and clinical excellence.

Brandon Buenavidez

Brandon is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Director of Family Services at Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  He has experience in a variety of settings with a focus on serving individuals and families who have experienced trauma and attachment injuries. 

In his current role, Brandon oversees the operations of Jefferson Center’s Family Services programs which provide a range of services to children ages birth through 22 and their families.

Brandon earned his BA in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and his MA in Counseling from Regis University. 

Shannon Gwash, NBC-HWC 

Shannon is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and the Interim Director of Integrated and Lifestyle Medicine at Jefferson Center for Mental Health. Shannon’s background in population health, holistic and lifestyle medicine, employee wellness, and marketing across an array of business and non-profit sectors allows her to bring a uniquely strategic perspective in leading her teams. Her empathetic lens and strong desire to help others drives her passion around providing equitable care and truly hearing each patient’s story. Outside of work, Shannon volunteers as a middle school cross country coach and a synchronized figure skating coach. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, being in nature, and traveling. 

Tom Olbrich, LCSW

Tom Olbrich’s 27 years of service have creating incredible change and impact at Jefferson Center and in our communities. His role includes overseeing our Crisis Services and Withdrawal Management Programs. Tom’s work extends to the community as the Disaster Response Coordinator and as a member of the Jefferson County Community Crisis Response Team, where he as organized and participated in responses to multiple disasters and community Crises. His dedication and passion to serving those in crisis has been crucial to a better understanding of supporting individuals and communities in crisis and being better prepared to address and prevent them in the future.

Andrea Turk, LPC, CAS

Andrea Turk has more than 15 years of experience working in behavioral health, specializing in crisis services, residential, criminal justice, mental health and substance use for adolescent and adult populations. She is committed to ensuring the community is here to support individuals, providing trainings on vicarious trauma, active listening and de-escalation and behavioral health in forensics to law enforcement, first responders, criminal justice professionals as well as non-law enforcement agencies such as community corrections. Her dedication is evident in how she supports her teams and communities with compassion, ensuring everyone get the care they deserve.

Ian Wheat, MD

Ian is a board-certified addiction psychiatrist and adult psychiatrist. He is the Associate Medical Director of Medication Assisted Treatment and Pharmacy at Jefferson Center. Ian’s experience with a broad range of psychiatric, general health, and substance use disorder work provides the foundation for his wholistic health and bio-psycho-social approach to treatment and the development of programs. Ian works with Adult Outpatient Services, the Suboxone MAT Program, Mobile MAT, and Recovery Clinic programs, as well as providing consultation and support across the center. He enjoys caring for clients, teaching, developing programs, and refining systems to help support colleagues, and removing barriers for clients. Ian is passionate about team based and community engaged care, working to build connections and empower clients through bilateral education, respect, and innovation. His aim is to help provide high quality, flexible, full spectrum, integrated, and evidenced based care.

Owen Love, LPC, LAC, ACS

Owen is a Licensed in both counseling and addictions and serves as the Director of Commercial Services at Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  Owen has served in a myriad of roles in behavioral health and human services through the Denver-Metro area over the last 15 years.  In  role of Director of Commercial Services, Owen supports Commercial Services Outpatient, the LGBTQ+ team, Veteran and Military Family Services, Psychological Testing, and Trauma Services.  

Through the years at Jefferson Center, they have steered commercial programming, supported rate and contract negotiations, and supported innovation initiatives and data strategy.  Data, finance, and technology are all tools Owen uses to lead, while centering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Owen earned their BA in Psychology from the Naropa University, his Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Regis University and is completing a Master of Healthcare Administration from Colorado State University Global.
