Both my kids love and have done so well with their therapist and all the staff is so friendly. They actually turly help! I also love that they work a little play therapy I'm with my oldest, despite being a teen it's helpful for her!

Thinking about it test after my appointment with Dr Regina Johnson, at the Jefferson center for mental health at the union office for depression she wanted to me to keep taking a weight loss drug Relacore. This is not a depression medication at all. I still need a medication for my depression when things hit my body and I get angry. I need to see someone else who know what is necessary to help me! I really don’t like what happened yesterday and what was prescribed as a depression drug!!!

I have used their services for a long time, through some very rough and hard places in my life. They have always answered the phone with a person to talk to. The Dr's have all been great and they have listened.Their counselors have been very well educated and helpful. Even the classes I attended for grief, I found so very needed and great for me during that stretch of my life.I can't say anything bad about this facility. and I thank them for ALL their help.

Had incorrect information in my chart that they refused to correct. Refused any treatments I asked about because “Medicaid won’t pay for that” (they never submitted it). Therapists were unprofessional, talking about their personal issues more than mine. Felt dismissed and misdiagnosed for the five years I sought treatment here.

Jefferson Center offers a wide variety of services not just mental health related issues. There is a pharmacy Blue Spruce on site, Jacob, Jeanine, and Ernie are amazing. They go above and beyond and provide exemplary services at the pharmacy. Navigation is extremely helpful and probably a resource that is underused by the community. Each and every time I have been there I have been treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Simply put I'm an old guy & have been talking to different people w/different qualifications , on & off, for the past 65yrs. Because luck of the draw gave me an excellent match I have been able to make progress & resolve alot of bad experiences. The person I was fortunate to get in the chair opposite me was a real human being. Not only well trained but someone who very much wanted to see me do better. That meant alot to me. This person , over a 2 year period, never failed to do what they agreed to do relative to what I requested. That's pretty rare in my experience & muchappreciated on my end. Its not what they said but that they listened that helped me the most. I truly believe that its up tothose of us afflicted to find the solutions to what bothers us. That part is our job. He gave me the space, the opportunity & the time to do that--to work out my own solutions. That's a rare talent & a gift that I continue to benefit from. The answers that work are our own. There is no magic. He gave me a platform where I could look at what happened to me & the time to figure out a solution that would put it to rest as much as possible. As I continue to work w/this person I have noticed that I'm not talking about the past very much anymore. That's as resolved as much as its ever going to be resolved. So we talke about the present & future which is progress I never made w/anyone else. He continues to provide what he always has which is a safe place to take the lid off the cans thathold & hide the darkest of my secrets. Who could want more. Not me cuz I already have everything someone like me could reasonably expect. A good human well trained who acts professional 100% of the time & who backs up what he does w/actons that allow me to continue to make the progress I seek & at my own pace. No magic but if , IF , you are ready to do what you say you want to & need to do then look for a match @ Jefferson Ctr cuz there's probably one in the pile. Its possible if you accept you are responsible for what happens to you regardless of what has happened to you. That's it & I'm out. james karanikolas

I have been going here for many years on and off. This place is extremely helpful. I have had therapists who I didn't think were so great or didn't feel comfortable with so I had switched them which was easy to do. Never had to also switch my psychiatrist when I did this. Although the wait time to see a psychiatrist is a good 2 to 3 months in advance it is worth the wait. Once I see my psychiatrist my appointments are always scheduled within a timely manner. If something comes up with my psychiatrist's schedule they have called me and rescheduled which was only a two day difference from my original appointment. If I have to call and reschedule someone always answers the phone and helps me out right away. I have also had different psychiatrist's just due to them retiring but my new psychiatrist are always able to read my chart so I don't have to explain myself again and again. Same goes for therapists. I strongly believe seeing a therapist helps more than medication but that's just my opinion. I am also taking an anger management class they offer which is very helpful. Never had issues with or without insurance. Overall a great experience.

The Jefferson Center for mental health is the absolute WORST kind of bureaucracy. Our young adult son called Dr Schumann’s office after finding her in network with our insurance. He asked for help with diagnosis, testing and possibly medication for adhd. They made an appointment (which he thought was with the Dr), held a virtual session, was charged on a credit card and only THEN was told “we don’t do that”. Total waste of time and money. We contacted the “patient advocate” who apparently is well trained to make excuses. Horrible experience.

My prescriber is wonderful. However, every single “counselor” was absolutely useless to me. Nice people. Grossly unqualified. The person in charge of trauma treatment is obscenely unqualified making up arbitrary rules to receive treatment that are not based on any scientific evidence whatsoever.I literally BEGGED my assigned “counselor” for help with active flashbacks, panic attacks, nightmares, and other debilitating symptoms and in return I got a handout on how to plan my days better. Ridiculous.I now have a wonderful brilliant actually qualified therapist who has saved my life and for whom I am beyond grateful.

I’m thankful to have gotten in and have my meds continued. Not surprised the psych Ian Wheat tried to take me off them but I am surprised that he’s rescheduled on me three time in six months. These last two reschedules he completely took me off his list for the month forcing me to beg for my refill from the crisis line . I can’t schedule with someone else until his team releases me and there’s never anyone available anyway so I hope I make it through the year. I just can’t believe how many times he’s kicked me out of my appointments . If he doesn’t want to work with me anymore , he should grow a pair and tell me at the appnt while referring me to someone else. The sad thing is it’s because I’ve expressed being su*cidal and he doesn’t approve of the one medication that actually helps me . The medication is seroquel and the three appnts I saw him hed go on about how unusual it was that anyone prescribed that which is just not true at all. It’s like they’re hoping I just end it so they can stop helping me which is eventually going to happen

Update: Was reached out to by my provider. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait for meds. But in transitioning insurances, I called to update billing and per my usual experience, the front desk staff don't know anything and just want to transfer me. When I reached billing I was requested to email. If I had the capacity to email, I wouldn't have called. Every interaction with the admin staff feels like I'm responsible for jumping through hoops and have to carry the emotional weight, and adaptability of pivoting. It's exhausting and counter-intuitive. I'm deeply disappointed in my experience with this center. Even the response, and excuse that the privatized side works differently than Navigation, is proof in itself... I as the client, shouldn't have to follow up multiple times nor receive the run around because the staff don't know what they need to know to support in scheduling, replies, etc.-------I started coming here when I was on Medicaid insurance through the collaborative care unit. The therapy support was compassionate but felt generic and insufficient for my needs, so I only used this service once. The med provider felt supportive and responsible and informative. however, since transferring to their Navigation team, scheduling and response time are atrocious, the communication to my questions are lackluster, and the ability to schedule is too far out to be any sort of support. I don't recommend it. It's not worth the inaccessibility if you don't have medicaid. I've emailed and left voicemails, and yet, I'm at risk for being without medication due to their non-responsivness. It's not okay.

The tax payers of Lakewood should seek to close this place, they seem willing to help woman, (boy they can get housing overnight) but thats about it. If your homeless and any type of guy, or minority group, forget it. Just drive down Colfax in Lakewood and look at all the screwballs on street. This is not working. NOTE: overnight Detox Center is a good division, they seem to care. Crisis Center side seems useless but Detox is a good service to provide.

My son has been coming here for a couple of years, the staff are kind and helpful. The Dr.s are caring and take time to answer all our questions and the pharmacist even called a week before appt to let us know insurance was denied. We had time to correct issue and that saved us a lot of stress and worry. A few things I'd love to see added are gym passes, music classes, and holistic therapy to aid treatment.

I live in the area and recently watched as they harassed and ultimately had a homeless man arrested for sleeping under their awning during these cold winter nights. I had interacted with him on a couple of occasions to make sure he was okay and he was harmless and polite. For people who call themselves mental health professionals they certainly lack compassion. I watched as the man’s only possessions were taken away and probably tossed as garbage. These are not good people.

I know now why they have low ratings. First, when I call the receptionist has an attitude. Second, I had a video chat with my therapist and I never got a link or anything. So I tried to call back and still nothing so I missed 2 session already. I don't have a car. So video chat is what I can do. Third, I never got conform calls for the Appts.

Absolute nightmare. These people are dangerous. I asked if they had caseworkers and doctors they said yes. They put me in some call center thing with a guy, who was nice enough, but I have no idea what is going on. I have adhd and ptsd possible ASD so here is a hundred numbers for you to call was an impossible feat and very insensitive if you ask me I was looking to get my ADHD treated as my entire support system did not transfer when I moved like I was led to believe it did. This is what happens when you have execs getting rich off taxpayer money and no qualified mental health professionals. Turns out they do have caseworkers though... took 5 months of games and lies to find that out. If you love your meth great place for nurses to load you up on antihistamines and trazedone to help you come down to start it all over again 3 days latter. You will be enabled at the expense of those with REAL mental health issues who didn't choose their circumstances and really want and need help..

Run very far away from Caitlin Wheatly. As a practicing nurse I feel like she should have more oversight in prescribing medications that can dramatically affect a person, especially when combined with cruel policies intentionally designed to make it more difficult for patients to access care when they most need it. My last therapy session with Jamie Finkelstein was the most unprofessional I've ever had and I can't bring myself to find another therapist after how she completely crossed a boundary with billing by dumping stressful information at the very end of a session with no time to talk it out, triggering a major anxiety attack. Don't do it. And if they pair you with Doug, I urge you to cancel before that unrelatable man makes you feel even more like ending it all.

I used to have nothing but praise for this facility. But now that my old psychiatrist has retired, I've been placed with a "Dr." Ann Williams. So far this woman required blood work that cost me $650 out of pocket and revealed nothing. Now she's demanding regular drug testing which will also cost an enormous amount out of pocket. All because she doesn't like the fact that I use Kratom for pain due to highly strenuous and physically demanding job. As she put it (her exact words) "Patient(me), this stuff (Kratom) will KILL YOU!"Mind you, all of this coming right after receiving blood work that showed no physical problems with my liver or general physiology. This kind of hyperbole from a "professional" is absolutely unacceptable. Ann Williams has literally taken the strong and effective foundations of my continued sobriety and set them on fire. If I'm forced to continue with her it's only a matter of time before I relapse.Worst of all, she's holding one of my medications, one I've used for years with no ill effects hostage in a quid pro quo form of extortion. Only allowing me to continue it if I submit to regular, expensive drug tests that have NOTHING to do with the medication itself. This woman is going to get one of her patients killed sooner rather than later. The fact that JCMH keeps her on staff is a disgrace to the organization and an example of their employees actively damaging their patients well-being while also putting them in a complete financial quagmire. It's absolutely despicable.

Update: Dr. Peterson is great!!Mental health is no joke. Chemical changes after 10 plus years using the same meds, and BAM, semi normal to absolute chaos after I was forced to change docs. I guess big pharma got to them and wanted us to be customers instead of patients, making us try so many different things, once again. No insurance, and they don't even know if it'll work. What happened to caring? Instead, a timer is set for 30 min apts, and you know they are looking at the timer because of the fact they'll say 'we got 'x' mins left...people without insurance jerked around instead of listening and understanding, they tell u and could care a less about it and tell you THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD FEEL..Sad what doc's have become now a days.

They used to have actual doctors and psychologists here, but they all left. I had problems with several of their therapists and had to go else where for therapy. I needed to apply for disability, which they used to help with. Had an appointment with Nicole Munoz, she basically refused to help me and was absolutely useless. These people do not deserve any sort of government funding and just need to close. Also, they do not have anything to do with Jefferson county...it's just their name.It takes some research, but there are other places that take medicaid and can actually help you. Try LifeStance Health, they take medicaid.

Update: I get an email asking for review of JCMH. I’m completely honest, and about a week later I get a bill for $90 with no explanation what I’m being billed for. This place is shady and petty, I would give them a wide berth. No treatment is better than their poor treatment.Made an appointment in February for June 14, today I get a voicemail saying they set it as a ‘follow up’ appointment instead of a ‘med eval’ appointment so they canceled it instead of just seeing me for the correct reason at that time, or even offering a different time. These people don’t care about their patients, or they’re so grossly incompetent they are incapable of properly caring for patients. Either way, if you have any alternatives for care, even if it costs much more, I would recommend you go with them over Jefferson Center. This place has actively made my depression worse, and that is so sad and disappointing for an institution whose goal is literally the opposite.Edit: No, I will not be the one to address these problems with an advocate, do better. I don’t need to be fixing your broken system and uncaring employees, YOU DO.

Poor bedside manner. Obviously overworked prescribers as they took so long during appointments going over notes and typing. They were Irritated by questions I had. Then tried to blame me for them not having the report from a test I did, on their order, over a year ago. Also: if all your appointments are video calls, please put an effort in to presentation value. Lighting is easy and accessible. Framing yourself in the screen is even easier. Having your dark or overly bright shot with your head barely visible in the bottom corner of the screen makes it that much harder for the patient to feel like they are talking to a professional.
I don’t really recommend JCMH unless you’re in DIRE need of help. Calloway could barely do her job professionally and she just smiled more in our conversation once she realized she wouldn’t be my prescriber anymore. And my prescriber before her was judgmental & deleted all my records as soon as she thought she could get away with it. I’m glad to be rid of JCMH, honestly.

I've been a client for 6 years, and I have been disappointed by their disorganization as most of the people wrote in their reviews, but the overall experience has been lifechanging. I am a much healthier, loving and stronger person because of their recommendations of therapists. Now, that doesn't mean that all of the therapists were the right fit, or the doctors, but if you give them a chance to fix it, they will find you the right one. And sometimes there are errors and mistakes made, but they fix them. I have met some of the best and worst people here, but I wouldn't undo any of it. The DBT group therapy was especially the best treatment, and it did take a couple years of it to finally put those skills into use. Patience is key and I definitely think that's the case when it comes to JCMH.

This place was the only place willing to accept me as a new patient within a short time frame when I moved to Denver. The receptionists here are nice and I've never had any billing issues with them. However, I didn't feel like my experience with Dr Johnson was exceptional. I only ever saw her for about 15 minutes at a time and the questions she asked didn't really go in depth about my mental health. The downside of this place is that they refused to send my prescriptions electronically to my pharmacy in Denver. This meant that I had to drive an hour round trip to get my prescriptions and bring them to my pharmacy. All of this could have been avoided if they had the right encryption, but this is something they refuse to do. Dr Johnson was also negligent and gave me the wrong prescription for the completely wrong person. This is the only time in my life that has ever happened to me and I have to say that I was a little disappointed that she couldn't even be bothered to check the name on the prescription she was writing.

On September 18th at about 1 pm the best staff was there. The security guard John was remarkable. He was compassionate, professional, and caring. He made sure to say my name correctly and treated everyone who walked through the door with equal respect. Thank you. The lady who helped me upstairs and getting set up with the counselor was very sweet and kind to me. I don’t remember her name but she had beautiful long dark hair. She answered all my questions and made sure I was taken care of, I greatly appreciate her. When I spoke with Cheryl she did a phenomenal job helping me by bringing action to the solutions she gave, making sure I fully understand and had a real plan that I wanted before I left. She truly understood me and what I needed which wasn’t another hospital. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the impact she made and her very sweet words. Thank you for seeing me as a real person. I would return to this center if needed in the future in hope of having these kinds of people working, thank you all again.

Was given outdated psychology today therapy resources that didn't even exist when I called and was sent home almost immediately even though I said I needed to talk to a trauma counselor immediately. Doesn't actually provide counseling, just helps with a safety plan, gives you a stack of resources that aren't always available, gave me information with another clients phone number and personal information on it, and then wouldn't even let me stay and dicuss it further with a therapist and sent me home. A walk in center shouldn't make you feel horrible for needing help

This place is a joke my daughter was suicidal and we reached out for help and was told by The police to bring her here we got here at 10 am it is currently 5pm and nothing has happened my daughter has sat in a room for the whole time being told oh we're working on getting help then when I wanted to take my daughter I get told oh you can't. My daughter is the only person in this office outside their staff and not a care in the world about her. I have had to lose my temper just to get them to do something. And the supervisor didn't even care. Don't bring your children here for help. You won't get any.

This is not a place that has licensed therapist. Although the staff told us they were the therapist dealing with our child, clearly they have no real skills in evaluating adolescence in crisis. I was told to take my child home and to put 3 different colored dots on the wall each representing different emotions so she can just point to them. She is 15. Long story short, after being told by the this place that my daughter would not be placed in a care facility even though she is clearly in crisis. I was told the chances of her getting placement would most likely not happen as she would not admit her suicidal ideology to them. We explained her history and that she would be telling them what they want to hear, but that she is in dire need of help. Well, how about you try before just saying it’s not gonna happen. We left there and she has since been admitted into an inpatient program because real therapist recognized how desperately she needed it. My daughter literally said that had she stayed home with us that night, she had planned to kill herself. I am so thankful we did not take their advice or I would be planning a funeral. I really wish I had known that she would not be evaluated by real therapist. If you are in a crisis situation, do not count on this place recognizing it for what it really is. You are better off going to the ER. It appears their policy is to only help after someone has either almost died. So sad that there are no services available until that has happened. NEVER again will we ever utilize this place.

I hate to say I've been here a few times. This last time was positive despite the reason I was there (voluntarily detoxing from alcohol.) My detox was pretty gnarly and the staff was nothing but compassionate. A manager, I believe his name is Ryan was very kind, understanding and took the time to listen to concerns. Also a counselor, Robert, I think, took the time to write up information regarding an aftercare plan, really nice guy. Overall the staff was great. I'm still sober and am following through with my aftercare plan. I am thankful for this place and the staff that works there.

Safe haven. Even the security guard was very kind and trauma-informed. I felt cared for and validated-they (therapist Robert, his team mate, the peer specialist and the lady who greeted me at the reception) switched on the light at the end of the tunnel for me that day.Thank you for all you do-we need more people and centers like that.

This place is HORRIFIC.This was my first and only experience ever using a walk-in crisis center, and I will NEVER reach out to a mental health professional for help ever again because of this one interaction. It truly was that awful.I was not suicidal until my interaction with Terry at this facility.Terry has no business working in mental health - He has NO empathy. He was so bad that I started having a panic attack DURING OUR CONVERSATION, and this man did not have the faintest idea how to speak to someone having a panic attack. This man actively and intentionally went out of his way to make my panic attack worse, and during our entire interaction, he treated me as though I was faking or exaggerating having a mental health crisis. If you truly want to live, you will avoid this place!

What an absolute horribly abusive place. The extremely overweight head nurse called this place “her unit”. She is deranged. I was here 2022/23 on an IC and the abuse I suffered has left me with ptsd. I am vegan and they made me buy my own food which is ILLEGAL. The beds here are like rocks and I’ve gotten better sleep in jail. The place is trashed and the janitor doesn’t even clean. The way the staff treats you is like you’re a criminal and they don’t care about your wellbeing. They want you to be in pain and suffer!! I can’t remember the head nurses name but she’s so fat her arms can be used as life preservers. She’s a power hungry sociopath and she made me miserable on purpose. Dear the entire staff: I wish nothing but the very worst for you and every single person you love and care about. I hope you get hit by a train and your bodies are so unrecognizable that your family can’t even have a funeral for you. I hate this place. Should be reported to the state.

Was directed here after a crisis precipitated at another medical clinic. Was told, in no uncertain terms, to go kick rocks. What is the point of this place? I was simply seeking someone to talk to in order to sort out some intrusive thoughts and was told that it was a medical issue (???), to go to urgent care or the ER (where they would do what, exactly?), and to basically just leave because there was nothing there for me.Would be a zero star review but for Terry, the gentleman I finally spoke to. He was initially rebuffing and gruff, but once he realized A) what I was looking for and B) they didn't have staff on hand capable of helping me (literally just looking for a conversation!) he softened up and became rightfully apologetic.Shame on this facility and shame on those who run it. What are you even doing here?Edit - Oh and I just called the number listed in what is presumably the autoresponder to all the 1 star reviews, and the number is a dead end. What a total farce.

I was in great need of talking to someone at the crisis center. I called the number and didn't get anybody at the crisis center. I got no one 2 help me out. All the person on the phone could do was just keep repeating themselves. For all they Care someone could die and not get any help. I highly do not recommend the user their services.

Horrible experience. Save your time and go somewhere else. Like other reviews have said Terry was just awful.. he should not be working with people in crisis. I called the number left on this review, No effort was made to contact me back after I left a message.
